“In everything you do, work to make the community around you better”
Lance is driven by his mission of getting people places, both physically and professionally. He helps motivated people grow their businesses, reduce wasted ad spend, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Personal Mission: Equity in Getting People Places
It’s about ensuring everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has access to the destinations that enrich their lives - whether that’s work, healthcare, education, or recreation. Serving on the BATA board and volunteering with TART Trails are core to this mission. These roles allow Lance to contribute to building a connected, accessible community, where transit, complete streets, and trails work hand-in-hand to link people to opportunities and experiences. Lance finds it incredibly rewarding to play a part in creating systems that empower movement, foster independence, and support a better quality of life for all.
Smart Growth & Affordable Housing
Lance believes in smart growth that prioritizes affordable housing and sustainable development to meet the needs of our community. With the region currently short by at least 3,500 rental units, it’s clear we need innovative solutions to ensure that everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home. By leveraging tools like Voter-Approved Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and redeveloping underutilized properties, Lance is committed to addressing this critical shortage while protecting the character and resources of Traverse City.
Supporting Local Businesses, Strengthening Our Community
Lance knows the hard work it takes to run a small business. Growing up in Harbor Beach, a small tourist town surrounded by farmland, he worked in his family’s 1950s diner, learning firsthand how local businesses shape a community.
Today, Lance brings that experience to his work at Fullpath, helping car dealerships across the Midwest grow through digital marketing, advertising, and data-driven strategies. He understands that small businesses are the backbone of a strong local economy and is committed to supporting them, both professionally and in his community.
Lance believes that when mom-and-pop shops thrive, so does Traverse City - and he’s ready to help local businesses succeed.
Collaboration for Community Success
Lance believes in the power of collaboration between businesses, government, and residents to build stronger, more connected communities. He’ll bring his expertise in facilitating stakeholder sessions and community study groups to ensure that local initiatives and strategies align with the needs and desires of the people they serve.
With experience leading over 150 community engagement meetings - including partnerships with neighborhood associations, CDCs, gov orgs, non-profits, and church groups - Lance knows how to foster meaningful conversations that result in actionable outcomes. His proven ability to bring people together will help ensure smooth roll-outs of services and initiatives with buy-in from neighbors and stakeholders alike.
